The People's Building and Aurora Cultural Arts District
My work with The People’s Building and the Aurora Cultural Arts District reflects two distinct — and equally vibrant — approaches to community storytelling.
With ACAD, we embrace the scrappy, DIY energy of the neighborhood: collage-style graphics, layered textures, bold type, and grassroots-forward messaging that mirrors the creative hustle of Aurora’s artists and small businesses. Our focus is on human-interest storytelling — spotlighting muralists, musicians, vendors, and longtime residents — and creating campaigns that feel made with the community, not just for it. That authenticity fuels participation and strengthens First Fridays and district-wide events as spaces of ownership and pride.
At The People’s Building, we have redesigned the website and promotional materials with a clean, modern aesthetic that highlights the wide range of producers and programming housed under one roof. Our strategy centers clarity and cohesion while honoring each artist’s unique voice. By streamlining digital touchpoints and elevating visual storytelling, we position the venue as both polished and welcoming — a creative home that supports diverse artistic styles while remaining accessible to the broader community.
Across both roles, my work is rooted in the same principle: amplify real people, reflect the true energy of the neighborhood, and build sustainable audience growth through intentional, community-centered storytelling.
